Spezza Privacy Policy
Spezza splits restaurant receipts. Who you eat with and what you order is nobody's business but yours — so this policy is short, because we collect nothing.
What we collect
Nothing. Spezza has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no servers of our own. We cannot see your receipts, your splits, or the names of the people you eat with — and neither can anyone else.
Where your data lives
- Receipt photos are read entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework, the moment you scan or pick them. Spezza keeps only the text it reads — items and prices — and does not store, upload, or transmit the photo.
- Splits and history — items, amounts, who owed what, and paid stamps — are stored only on your device. Spezza works fully offline.
- Names you add for the people at your table are stored on your device only. Spezza never asks for access to your Contacts.
Sharing and Venmo
Sharing a split, or tapping "Request in Venmo," happens only when you initiate it. The Venmo button simply opens Venmo with an amount and a note pre-filled — Spezza has no Venmo integration, receives nothing back, and never sees your Venmo account. Anything you share leaves your device through the destination you choose, under that destination's terms.
Purchases
Spezza's one-time unlock is processed by Apple. We receive aggregate, anonymized sales reports from Apple; we never see your payment details or identity.
Data deletion
Delete any split in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. There is no copy to delete anywhere else.
Children
Spezza is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Since Spezza collects nothing, changes would only ever narrow or clarify - never expand - what is described here.
